Here at Taupō Dental Centre we believe in relationship building, making sure our customers are receiving care from a team that knows them and their needs. Taupō Dental Centre is New Zealand owned and operated by a local family in the heart of Taupō. We make sure our customers receive gentle, quality and affordable dentistry. It is our belief that dental appointments can be a comfortable and positive experience and we do our utmost to minimise patient discomfort.

Kelsi graduated from the University of Otago in 2013 with Distinction and she has practiced in our beautiful city since. Kelsi grew up in Whanganui before moving to Dunedin to complete her Bachelor of Dental Surgery. In 2019 Kelsi completed her three-year Orthodontic mini residency through the EODO Full Face Orthodontics program and received a Diploma in Clinical Orthodontics through the City of London School of Dentistry.
Kelsi’s dental passions lie in the areas of Ceramics, Endodontics (Root Canal Treatments), and Orthodontics (Braces). Kelsi has the perfect balance between experience and an understanding of the latest techniques and knowledge in the Dental field. Kelsi has a very caring and kind nature and she loves working together with her patients to produce optimal and long-lasting results. Kelsi is a Mum of two lovely girls, Adelyn and Thea. In her spare time, you will often see her running along the lakefront with her pram or at the pools with the kids. Kelsi and her husband Absalom enjoy rock climbing, watching movies, and spending time with the girls. Kelsi is also a rugby fan like her Dad.

Kamryn graduated from The University of Otago with credit and has experience working in Tauranga and Dunedin. He has a special interest in Aesthetic and Restorative dentistry, Oral surgery and making every experience at the dentist a comfortable one. He has a very caring nature, a keen eye for detail and is eager to improve and learn new techniques to deliver the best service that he can.
Kamryn is from Gisborne and grew up in Tokoroa. He resides here in Taupo with his wife Madyson, 5 year old daughter Harlow and 2 year old Son Isra. Aside from dentistry Kamryn enjoys spending time with his family. Sports and outdoor activities are ingrained in him. He played every sport you can think of growing up and enjoys being in the water whether it be surfing or waka ama on top or diving and fishing below.
Dr Nick Wilcox

As an Otago graduate Nick practiced in Auckland and in the UK before making a lifestyle decision to transfer his family to Taupo in 1998, purchasing an existing practice from Dr Hugh McCaffrey. Undertaking some postgraduate study at the University of Adelaide led to Nick being one of the early adopters in the field of Minimal Intervention Dentistry.
A long-time member of the NZ Institute for Minimal Intervention Dentistry Nick utilises leading technology in his daily practice, Micro Air Abrasion, Laser Decay Diagnosis, both hard and soft tissue Lasers for treatment. Inheriting a ‘Holistic’ practice from Dr McCaffrey, Nick has not used Silver Amalgam (Mercury fillings) for over 30 years. Nick sold his practice to Absalom and Kelsi in November 2021 and now contracts for them.

Eva graduated from the University of Otago with distinction. Eva enjoys all areas of dentistry especially restorative dentistry, endodontics and ceramic work.
Eva’s goal is to ensure that her patients feel supported, comfortable and confident in the care that they are receiving from her, every time. Eva’s friendly and gentle approach to dentistry will make you feel at ease when in her care. Eva spent her first 16 years of life in London, England before immigrating with her family to New Zealand. Eva then immersed herself in the kiwi culture and now loves getting stuck into outdoor activities such as mountain biking, skiing and water sports.

Pam started at Taupo Dental Centre in 2006 and after 2 children and a brief hiatus to the fitness industry, she proudly continues to work with the dental team to gently guide her much loved patients to excellent oral health.
An appointment with the dental hygienist involves removing plaque and tartar build up on the teeth that can lead to gum disease as well as advice on how to prevent tooth decay. Pam is gentle, kind and non-judgmental and loves giving her patients that just cleaned, fresh feel in their mouths and helping them achieve great dental health.

Business/Operations Manager
Dixie our Business and Operations manager works on all aspects of the business. She is the sister of practice owner Absalom & Kelsi Ander and has been with the practice since it was purchased from Chris Casswell in October 2017.
Dixie Kuriger completed a Bachelors degree in business management in 2013 and her role in the practice encompasses many different areas including; finances, budgeting, human resources, health and safety, policy and procedure, marketing and communications, and quality control. She enjoys soaking in the natural beauty around Taupo and spending time with family.
Chloe Hilton
Head Dental Assistant | Infection Control Coordinator
Chloe qualified as a dental assistant in 2007 in the UK. A year later she decided to go traveling, landing in New Zealand in April 2008. She very quickly met her lovely husband and has been here in beautiful Taupo ever since. She has 3 amazing boys that keep her busy with school sports, bush walks and weekend getaways whenever possible. Life is never dull!
For the last 12 years Chloe has worked here at the practice. Starting as an assistant for the previous owner, to now helping to manage the clinical aspect of Taupo Dental Centre. It has been extremely rewarding watching the dental industry change over the years and progress in so many ways. She feels very happy to be working in a family ran practice with like minded passionate people dedicated to quality dentistry and the patient experience.
Brenda Matthews
Dental Receptionist
When you come to our practice you will be greeted by our friendly and very-efficient receptionist Brenda. She will work on your behalf to find appointments that suit you and work in well with the practitioner’s schedule. If you need any help regarding referrals, forms or general information she is the one to speak to.
If you need help coordinating with your insurance provider, talking through finance options, and completing your new patient induction forms, Brenda is here to help.
